An apartment in the heart of Helsinki, Finland, was renovated into a coherent whole. A personal city home, facing the inner courtyard of the block, with a private entrance and a large outdoor terrace was completed with a fresh new overall look. Special attention was paid to the lighting, lighting control system and sound system of the apartment. Massive custom-made wall elements and fixed furniture were designed to contrast the otherwise light overall appearance. The layout is clear and simple; in addition to the living areas, the apartment has an open-plan kitchen and dining area, a library, a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a sauna.
